Solve hard challenges as an early hire in a high growth start-up (Software Engineer/Python)

Who you are

You are a talented and motivated software engineer and have 2-5 years of work experience in a professional environment. As the eighth employee in a high-growth start-up and working in a team with 2 other software engineers, you will have a strong impact on our culture, future hires and the development of the company. We look for positivism, a high work ethic and a passion for new technology. You enjoy working with minimum supervision and instruction in a rapidly changing environment. Experienced in Python and ideally C++, you are comfortable with all aspects of the software development life cycle from conception to deployment. You are competent to take responsibility for the architecture and security of enterprise software. Writing clean, understandable code that will be easier to maintain comes naturally. You should have a mathematical mindset and an interest in machine learning and speed optimization.

You can come to our offices in Lausanne 1-3 days a week and have Swiss/EU/EFTA Nationality or a Swiss Work Visa B/C.

GenLots is a 3-year old b2b SaaS Start-up in the Lausanne area with the following mission:

  •  Build the Artificial Supply Chain Brain that optimizes decisions in the supply chain of large corporations through the application of novel technologies. We radically remove inefficiencies which today are universally present and thought to be insurmountable
  • Accelerate the transfer of technology from the universities to real world application in the industry
  • Work not only for the benefit of our clients but also for the benefit of the employees

We have already major corporations as clients with others soon to follow and currently really need to increase our number of employees to fulfill the increase in traction and develop our roadmap.

What your work will look like

As a backend software engineer @GenLots your days will vary quite a lot:

  • Develop new products on our roadmap and bring your technical expertise to the product design
  • Estimate and develop custom requirements for some of the world’s largest companies
  • Understand deeply and add parameters to our machine learning algorithms
  • Help refactoring the existing Python/Flask back-end together with the team
  • Communicate well in English, French would be a plus
  • Help hiring and onboarding new team members
  • Work out of the EPFL Innovation Park 1-2 days/ week and the rest optionally from home
