Some features seem obvious in hindsight, but they take time to develop. The Value Tracker is one of them. GenLots optimizes when to order how much to reduce total cost of ownership. Unlike many companies that claim to deliver savings, we’ve always had the following edge: we can compare our AI-generated order recommendations with the current system recommendation in detail and show exactly where the savings come from.
One of our clients had a very specific savings goal for this year and wanted to document that GenLots can achieve it. As they are using our GenLots UI1, planners validate each order directly within the platform.
This opened the door for something new – the Value Tracker.
We now attribute a saving compared to the current plan to each order validated by the planner.
This is a big step in accountability for planners as well as for the GenLots algorithm. Not only that, but it allows us also to track live deviations from recommendations and thus investigate why planners might have deviated from the optimum. There is usually a good reason – and if we understand it, we can improve the algorithm through better parameter tuning.

For our client, it provides a live dashboard with up-to-date numbers on the value GenLots brings.
In our client’s case, we exceeded expectations: with over 1,000 validated orders, they achieved more than half a million euros in quantity discounts in just five months for one production site– tracked order by order.
